Hi Mayca, I’m struggling to know what is the safe / legal % of essential oils that can be used in making cosmetics for use on the body and not the face. I am making hand and body butters and I can’t find much information to know what is the maximum % of essential oils I can use in those. Thank you
Hi Niamh, this course is to formulate face products but Max % in body products depends on they are rinse or leave on products. Rinse products if up to 1.8% and leave-on is 1.5% according to EU cosmetic regulations. However in my personal opinion this is very high and you need to take allergens into account . Even the 0.5% on a face product is too much in my opinion. I normally would use 0.2% or none.
