As fashion week heads from New York to Milan, more and more bright young things with colourfully made-up faces peer out at us from the pages of fashion magazines. While proponents of natural beauty are never big on fads, it can be nice to branch out and find new natural makeup brands to try. Since we can all use something a little different now and then, we did our natural makeup research. Even if you’re not much for makeup and just want a recommendation for the makeup you’ll be using for your Carnaval costume, we’ve got you covered. Here’s our list of natural makeup brands that you should try this year.
LAVERA
If you frequent natural beauty stores, you’re probably no stranger to this brand. Lavera offers natural skincare products ranging from deodorants to face creams. This German brand also offers super affordable makeup from lipstick to foundation to mineral powder. For an organic and all-natural product, the prices are great and everything is cruelty-free, as well as vegan. This brand is a great stepping stone for people to look to detoxify their beauty routine slowly, but aren’t ready for solid or packaging-free cosmetics
PUROBIO COSMETICS
With their reasonable prices and various certifications, the Italian puroBIO Cosmetics are certainly worth giving a go! Their vegan-friendly line is free from harsh metals like nickel and is certified as organic. Vibrant eyeshadow palettes, soft blushes, and fun eyeliners combine to make this makeup line very diverse. puroBIO has a reputation for crafting amazing BB crème and foundation. Not to mention that their magnetic refills make it easy to minimize waste while you customize your palettes.
COULEUR CARAMEL
Founded in 2003, this French natural beauty brand has pioneered many things. Boasting EcoCert and organic certifications, you can be sure that the quality of this makeup is the real deal. Couleur Caramel offers a plethora of formulas and shades, which means they have something for everyone. On top of being affordable, the brand has eco-conscious and low impact packaging designed to minimize waste. As a matter of fact, their entire Signature Collection is refillable.
AVRIL
Another impressive natural makeup brand out of France is Avril. Although this brand hasn’t been around as long, their line also has the EcoCert and organic certifications. Avril’s makeup line is also vegan and cruelty-free. With unbeatable prices, this line is ideal for young people looking to dip their toes into organic and natural makeup. It just goes to show that you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg for natural, organic products!
LOGONA
Heading back to Deutschland, we’ll find the well-established Logona. This natural beauty brand has been fighting the good fight since 1975! They were also the first brand to have their nail polish certified as organic. Besides those two fantastic accomplishments, they offer high quality make up at a great price. You can even branch out and indulge in their skincare, haircare, and dental care lines.
THE TAKEAWAY

One student recently shared this opinion about the WapoBeauty courses:
“Hi Mayca,
I wanted to message you and thank you for today. I loved your Soapmaking course.
More so, I must explain what it meant for me to be there. I lost my business in June of 2016.
I owned and ran a daycare which I poured my heart into for 10 years. The landlord finished my lease and long story short, my heart broke. My first thought was to never invest my heart in something again. I know I won’t set up another school as I had it just as I wanted it to be.
So, soapmaking was my first idea last summer. It took me until now to heal mentally, so today was very special. When you greeted me with a hug, I knew I was in the right place. I can’t stop talking about you to my husband. I’m so excited to try soapmaking at home and add some art. My husband and son are artists, so I’ll have a little help there. Also, my daughter would love to do a course with you but I can’t afford the one in August. Honestly, I could sit and chat with you over a jug of sangria for hours.
You were a perfect host and teacher.
I will see you again Mayca.
Love,
x “
